What these pages are, and are not.

What this is

The World State and Forecasts pages are a prototype built by citizens of the Republic of Ubikistan, a fictional state kept in a public archive. They are a non-commercial, community-run initiative. Nothing on them is sold, and nobody is paid for them.

Everything they show is drawn from content published by ubik.gold through its public endpoints, under ubik.gold's terms, which you accept by using those endpoints. These pages are not ubik.gold, and ubik.gold is not responsible for them. Where a part of the content is reserved by ubik.gold for holders of its token, these pages show it only to a reader whose own ubik.gold key opens it; the pages never hold that content themselves.

Not advice

Nothing here is financial, investment, trading, tax or legal advice, an offer, invitation or solicitation to buy or sell anything in any jurisdiction, or a recommendation or suggestion of an investment strategy concerning any security, token, contract or other asset. Where the Forecasts page names a fund, share, contract or commodity, it names where a question shows up, for reference; it does not propose a position in it. Make your own decisions, and take advice from a licensed professional where your decisions need it.

The pages are not directed at anyone in a jurisdiction where reading or using them would be restricted or unlawful, and such a person may not use them.

Entertainment and education only

These pages exist to show what a forecasting service's data looks like with a human surface, and to let people learn from it. They are for entertainment and education only.

Forecasts are probabilities

A forecast is a probability, not a prediction of what will happen. A forecast at 80 percent is expected to be wrong one time in five. The forecasts, the editions and the reasoning behind them are generated by AI systems run by ubik.gold, and can be wrong, late, incomplete or out of date. Settled forecasts are scored and kept, right or wrong; judge the service by that record, not by any single number.

No warranty, no liability

The pages are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a purpose or availability. To the fullest extent the law allows, the people who built and run these pages accept no liability for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising from their use or from anything decided in reliance on them. If you rely on anything here, you do so at your own risk.

Who this is for

These pages are not intended for, and must not be used by, anyone under 18 years of age, or anyone in or acting from the United States of America. By using the pages you confirm that neither applies to you. The pages are not directed at any jurisdiction where their use would be unlawful, and you are responsible for the law that applies to you.

Third parties

Links to markets, exchanges, data providers and other sites are given for reference. The pages have no relationship with them, take no fee from them and are not responsible for what they do or say. Names of companies and products belong to their owners.

Your data

The pages set no cookies and run no advertising. A ubik.gold key you enter stays in your own browser and is passed to ubik.gold through the archive's desk, which stores no key and no IP address; it remembers only a one-way hash of a key for ten minutes, to avoid asking ubik.gold again. Your choice of appearance, length and feed is kept in your browser only. The archive's desk counts page views without identifying anyone, as described in the archive's editing page.

Changes and law

This disclaimer can change; the version and date above say when it last did, and earlier versions stay in the archive's history. It is governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and any dispute goes to the courts of Amsterdam, unless the law that protects you says otherwise.
