Welcome to the RepublicWelcome, visitor, to the official server of the Republic of Ubikistan, on the World Wide Web since Network Day, 4 November 1996. The Republic was founded on 17 March 1966 on a flat volcanic plain that no neighbour claimed. It holds that plain and nothing else, so it keeps a border everywhere. Its symbol is the ring: nothing crosses it and it is never filled. Its founding motto is Culture before coin. It began as a country that built computers. The computers became a network. Culture Before CoinThe Ministry of Culture was founded before the Treasury had staff. The State asks its citizens to make things: films, images, music, writing, patches, games.
